One of the most enjoyable things about riding, hands down, is road trips. For Spring Break this year, I chose to explore the California coast between Santa Barbara and San Francisco. I found some hidden gems and some of the most amazing views I have ever seen.

Meet Delilah
I got my first bike in the spring of 2009. She's a Harley Davidson XL 1200 Low, also called a Sportster.
I named her Delilah after the character in the Bible, because she's sexy and she'll seduce you if you aren't careful.
I chose this particular bike for a couple reasons.
1.) She fit me. I'm 5'3", 130lbs, so most of the bikes I tried out I could barely touch the ground, they were too wide and I had to lean forward to reach the handle bars.
2.) I went for a 1200 because I knew I wanted power, but as a brand new rider I wasn't ready for a full sized Harley Davidson. I passed on the Sportster 883 purely out of pride, haha. I didn't want to be riding the smallest bike HD made. (As it turns out, pride does go before the fall. One of the first times I took her for a ride, I laid her down at a stop light because I underestimated the about of power I had under me.)
3.) I got her pre-owned, in almost brand new condition, with only 1225 miles, which saved me money and was more environmentally responsible.

How I Started Riding
I always wanted to learn how to ride a motorcycle. When I was a kid my dad use to take me out on his Honda Goldwing, so I blame him. Or maybe it was Grandfather. There's a photo of me sitting on his motorcycle when I was just a toddler. But whichever of those gentleman is to blame...I always wanted to ride.
Flash forward 15+yrs years...A friend shows me how to ride his Night Train (That's a Harley Davidson btw.) in a parking lot by my house. A couple lessons and I caught the bug, bad. I got my first bike and my license (in that order) a couple months later. Life hasn't been the same since.
